Hey Folks,
Coach Ty here with your monthly Activate Youth Program update.
I can’t believe it’s already been almost a month since we started the program! It has been an incredible experience working with and getting to know each of our young athletes. We’ve got gamers, basketball, football, and soccer players in the building, and there’s even a Formula 1 fan (myself included) in there, too. The diversity in the group is awesome, and I’ve enjoyed watching them tackle the workouts with the effervescent approach that only youth can provide. (No bad knees in this group!)
Over the past four weeks, we’ve focused on compound lifts like the squat, floor press, and deadlift. I want to take a moment to explain why these compound lifts are so beneficial for our young athletes.
Why Compound Lifts are Good for Youths:
Compound lifts involve multiple muscle groups and joints, making them highly effective for building strength and coordination. For our youths, these lifts provide a fantastic foundation for overall fitness. They help develop muscle and improve joint stability and flexibility, essential elements for any young athlete.
Building a Strong Base:
By mastering compound lifts, they build a solid foundation that will serve them well in any sport or physical activity they choose. This foundation is not just about physical strength; it also instils confidence and discipline, invaluable qualities in all aspects of life.
Improving Physical Literacy:
Physical literacy is about developing fundamental movement skills that allow individuals to enjoy various physical activities. By focusing on compound lifts, we are enhancing the physical literacy of our young athletes. This means they are not just becoming stronger; they are also becoming more agile, coordinated, and proficient in a wide range of movements.
As we approach November, I am genuinely excited about the upcoming programming. I have no doubt that our young athletes will continue to grow from strength to strength. Their dedication and enthusiasm inspire me, and I look forward to witnessing their progress in the coming weeks.
Let me leave you with this thought:
“The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.” As we invest in their physical and mental well-being, we are shaping a brighter future for all of us.
Thank you for entrusting us with the opportunity to work with your amazing kids. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Here’s to a month of growth, learning, and endless possibilities!
Yours in health and fitness,
Coach Ty
