Coach Kayleigh

Kayleigh Cronin

Coach

Introducing Kayleigh, our dedicated Athletic Performance and Strength and Conditioning Coach with a particular focus on youth and athletic development. Currently overseeing our youth programme for 6-12-year-olds, providing personal training, and managing Athlete ID, our athletic development division.

Kayleigh’s personal mission is to enhance children’s quality of movement and provide them with an alternative to screens and school pressures. Regardless of their sporting interests, our programme aims to improve their physical and mental well-being. Her goal is to positively impact the athletic community and educate athletes (and coaches) on their journey towards optimal performance.

In the past two years, our kids’ programme has seen remarkable growth, with feedback from parents and children alike reflecting our significant impact on their physical and mental health. As we near capacity, we’re excited to expand further in the coming months. We’ve also extended our reach into schools, offering programmes aimed at primary and secondary students. Additionally, we’ve conducted seminars for parents on topics such as nutrition, youth exercise importance, and combating obesity in Ireland. This winter, our preseason programme yielded impressive results, and we’re proud to have four clubs now employing Athlete ID for their strength and conditioning needs.

Kayleigh has had the privilege of working at Activate for over two years now. She’s drawn to the business’s mission and its positive impact on countless lives daily. Activate caters to everyone, regardless of ability or age, fostering a diverse community. Collaboration among coaches is key, ensuring every individual receives the support needed to achieve their goals.

Kayleigh’s interest in sports and exercise from a young age naturally led her to pursue a career in coaching. She’s fascinated by what drives athletes and enjoys tailoring programmes to help them improve incrementally. She’s passionate about introducing children to new movement patterns and witnessing their joy as they master new skills. Most importantly, she’s thrilled to provide an avenue for children to exercise, even if they aren’t interested in traditional sports.

As a coach, Kayleigh’s mission is to elevate coaching standards in Kerry and raise awareness of movement development and youth health. Her specialities include athletic and youth development, along with personal training.

In addition to her practical experience, Kayleigh holds an undergraduate degree in Athletic Therapy and Training from DCU, which equipped her with a deep understanding of injury, rehabilitation, and anatomy. She also earned a master’s degree in Sport Performance from UL, further enhancing her knowledge of athletic development. Furthermore, she possesses Level 1 coaching certificates in GAA and Athletics.

In her spare time, Kayleigh is heavily involved in football and enjoys exploring local trails in Killarney with her dogs when she’s not training or working.
