Kids December Update

Dear Parents,
We’re gearing up for an exciting and active December in our kids’ classes at Activate! This month, our focus will be on key foundational movements and tracking progress through re-testing. Here’s what’s in store:

Movement Focus

  1. The Hinge
Teaching proper hip mechanics through exercises like deadlifts and kettlebell swings to build strength and coordination.
  2. The Push
Working on upper-body strength and stability with push-ups, overhead presses, and fun partner drills.
  3. Broad Jump Re-Test
We’ll revisit the broad jump to measure improvements in power and explosiveness. It’s a great way to celebrate the kids’ hard work and growth!

Fun and Fitness Combined

Alongside these focused skills, as always classes will include team challenges, obstacle courses, and games to keep learning fun and engaging.

For kids, fitness isn’t just about physical development—it’s about fostering a lifelong love for movement. The key to making that happen? Fun!

When fitness feels like play, kids are more engaged and excited to participate. Games, challenges, and activities spark joy while subtly building strength, coordination, and confidence. Fun also reduces the pressure to “perform,” allowing kids to explore movement in a positive, supportive environment – an environment which we pride Activate in being.

By focusing on enjoyment, we’re helping kids see fitness not as a chore but as a source of happiness and health. This approach lays the foundation for habits that will serve them well for life!

Christmas Schedule

Classes will continue as normal on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3.30pm – 4.30pm right up to and including Thursday 19th Dec. On this day we will have our Christmas party and we will take a short break for the Christmas holidays. Classes will return as normal on Tuesday, 7th January.

We can’t wait to see your kids thrive this December! As always, feel free to reach out with any questions.
Yours in health and Fitness,
Kayleigh
