Activate Kids&Youth 2023/24 Program

We are delighted to announce our 2023/24 activate youth program.

The health and wellbeing of our youth couldn’t be more important

Strength & conditioning is proven to:

⏩ Increase your child’s muscle strength and endurance

⏩ Help protect your child’s muscles and joints from sports-related injuries

⏩ Help improve your child’s performance in nearly any sport, from dancing to football and soccer

⏩ Develop proper techniques that your child can continue to use as he or she grows older.

Keep in mind that strength training isn’t only for athletes. Even if your child isn’t interested in sports, strength training can:

⏩Strengthen your child’s bones

⏩ Help promote healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels

⏩ Help your child maintain a healthy weight

⏩ Improve your child’s confidence and self-esteem

We have made some exciting updates to our program which are sure to benefit your child heading into the next school year.

Our next term starts on October 2nd with the follow days and times for both groups:

Activate Kids (for ages 6 to 12 years old)

Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30pm

Activate Youths (for ages 13 to 17 years old)

Wednesday at 3:30pm and Friday at 5:30pm

What does a typical Youths or Kids session look like?

Our coaching for youths and kids varies based on the age group involved. All our coaches are PYCC (Professional Youth Certified Coach) qualified, so are skilled at designing programmes and teaching methods appropriate to the children under our care.

For example, our younger groups respond better to game based learning, where there is a large emphasis on fun, play and camaraderie.

Our older children and teens will learn in a more structured environment appropriate to their ages and abilities, using fun, teamwork, inclusivity and enjoyment as a cornerstone of their experience. There are proven links to these coaching styles and ones which ensure children remain active into adulthood through reinforcing positive experiences in the gym environment.

We start each day with a quick and fun informational piece, like a nutrition question, anatomy or exercise pop quiz, we then move on to a warm-up to get ready for movement and exercise.

The warm-up is also a key time for coaches to work on balance, agility and coordination with your child.

After the warm-up is complete, we typically introduce a learning aspect, whether that is  learning a particular new movement or piece of gymnastics or skill (like skipping or swinging).

At the end of the session we will layer elements of what we learned in the day and put them into practice in a game or workout which ensures the child or teenager is moving well and improving their overall strength, ability and fitness with each session.
